Connxtions- Lansing, MI
For all you avid readers of this blog, you might remember reading a somewhat critical blog of my last visit to Connxtions in Lansing over a year ago. So why would you return to Lansing, Michael? Why would you return to the Michigan state capital, a state that recently had to shut it's public restrooms, bridges and DMV's for four hours just to save a couple thousand budget dollars? Why would you subject yourself to the worst state economy in the US, the highest rate of teen pregnancy, potato chip consumption and depression? I'll tell you why, because they have the highest rate of teen pregnancy, that's why (duh).
This trip to Lansing was part-time work, mostly-time hang with my brother. Like two gay lovers we spent every hour together, playing golf, watching football, and baking fresh oatmeal raisin cookies (low fat). We even played flag football on Sunday, which means that I won't be moving for the next two weeks. A lot of old friends stopped by to the shows, many thanks to all of them as well as the wonderful and friendly staff at Connxtions for helping with all my reservations and bar tab. Here are some snap shots:

My brother Todd got a big group of people together for Friday's show. He is also heckled me on stage like a typical older brother.

My favorite Greg Proops line of the weekend was when he called the audience "a bunch of ungrateful fucks." Hilarious.

The Eisners and Rudecells not only bought me dinner before the show but they also bought eight t-shirts after, allowing me to eat this week. Thank you!

Lindsay and Rachel and George Burns.

I love college towns.

I would make a comment about hotness but one of these women is my sister and that would be pushing it.

Penny, Michele (hot) and Henry (not hot).

Hey, groupies are groupies. Wednesday nights show, these three have been coming every week for 14 straight years (we had sex).

EXCITING NEWS!
- The Fox Sports Network has hired me to host their TV show, CCHA-All Access, covering the ins and outs of college hockey. I'll be at many of the seasons top games in remote locations from places like Fairbanks, Alaska and Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to South Bend, IN and Columbus, OH. We start filming in November and it should be a lot of fun. I'll make sure to post more when I am allowed and after I've actually read the 39 page contract that I already signed.
- Call it poor planning but I will actually be returning to Detroit this Thursday night for a last minute corporate gig at Hockeytown, then it's off to Film On The Run at Carthage College.
- New booking! The Rivercenter Comedy Club in San Antonio is having me back in February, 2008. Bring your tortillas, cowboy hats and "remember the Alamo" belt buckles.
